As we work our way through the last breaths of Winter we look forward to the awakening of the Gardens. Although many of our brides stage their weddings in the heart of Summer, there is nothing quite like the splendor of Springtime at the Chantilly Mansion.
The Gazebo is encircled in vivid green leaf buds that magically refashion into the most brilliant white as billions of fragrant blossoms literally burst forth before our eyes, filling the Corner of Church and Main with the incredible sweetness of pear blossoms.
Many great dates still remain in April when the trees are in their prime.

This is a review left on Wedding Wire from Lisa's mother that we wanted to share!

Due to illness in our family, my daughter's wedding date was moved up, giving us three weeks to plan the wedding and change the location to the Salt Lake City area. As the mother of the bride, and living in another state, I was so grateful for the quick response and assistance from the owner and her excellent staff. She returned my inquiry within a few hours and my quote emailed to me that same day. The wedding was much more than we had hoped with such little time to plan due to the convience of everything we needed right at the mansion. I highly recommend the Chantilly Mansion for a wedding and ceremony venue. The facility is beautiful, the staff very professional and the food is excellent!

Winter Wonderful!

This wedding was similar to photographing the moon or fireworks. It was impossible to capture just how magnificent it truly was! Amazing to think that we met with Lisa and her mother, and her fiance, Michael for the first time just 48 hours before the wedding took place. Lisa had dreamed and planned for a Fairy Tale wedding in New Zealand, but life made different plans for her and Michael. I am always delighted to see how sometimes the unexpected has a way of creating something even more magical than we could have ever imagined on our own. Every detail made the wedding of her dreams come to life in the shadows of the Wasatch Mountains. The tables were topped with felted wool and dressed to the hildt with a variety of shimmering ornaments for each guest to take home as a memory of this endearing event. Everywhere you looked there was something to intrigue and delight. Hundreds of origami flowers, lovingly hand folded were scattered throughout the mansion, creating a splendid paper garden. This is definitley one that will last in our memories forever!

A simple two tier cake baked and iced by My Sweet Wedding Cakes was brought to life with intricately folded origami flowers of ice blue, silver frost, and ivory snow. Lisa and Michael had originally dreamed of a week long summer wedding celebration in New Zealand, where Lisa resides, but an endearing story of love and compassion and life's unexpected circumstances shifted their wedding to Utah. Lisa and her mother selected the perfect color palette, creating a Winter Wonderland filled with warmth and love that enveloped every guests. Not even New Zealand could have been more wonderful!

This bouquet was only one of the perfectly amazing elements of Lisa and Michael's wedding this past Thursday. Lisa made her own bouquet with hand folded origami flowers in a soft palette of blue, silver and ivory, embellished with clear gems and pearls. Her Maid of Honor carried a smaller version of the bride's bouquet, and each of the honored guests of the wedding party wore unique variations of paper flower corsages and boutonnieres. So Stunning!

Sometimes the simplest of ideas turn out to be simply incredible. Keeping to a simple color theme of red, yellow and black even the tiniest details became statements! Yummy cupcakes and an exciting sundae bar created an atmosphere that shouted we are here to have fun! Guests couldn't help but celebrate with the newlyweds as they began their bright and beautiful lives together!

Dressed as the tinman from the Wizard of OZ, the groom pulled a heart shaped box from his armour and on bended knee proposed to his bride to be! The rest of the wedding continued with an Emerald City theme. Tiny ants carrying moss tufts and gerber daisies lined the aisle. An ecletic collection of oil cans made interesting centerpieces. The adorable flower girl pauses for a moment to recapture her felted flower bouquet before continuing down the yellow brick road in front of the bride.

Wedding favor possibilities are never ending! Josh had proposed to Lyndzee with a children's book so they decided to offer each guest a recycled story book as a token of their gratitude for celebrating with them on their fairy tale wedding day. Each book was tied with black tulle, making them a finished gift while still allowing guests to see the cover and select their favorite. A vintage typewriter with a typed letter was the perfect choice to tell the love story of how Josh proposed.

Anika & Jared encouraged the onset of Spring with a color theme of Watermelon and Kiwi! Bright Pink and Green butterflies and blossoms accented the white fondant cake. Watermelon crinkle taffeta sashes dressed each chivari chair with a playful bow. Guests were treated to the Acquaintance buffet overflowing with fresh garden crudites, Cibatta club sandwiches, Ham & Swiss Accordions, and a royal Caesar salad. The only thing happier and brighter than the decor was the bride and groom! Anika and Jared you are adorable! We wish you both a lifetime of joy!

Bryce and Angela celebrated with family and friends in a regal setting of Deep fig, iced lilac, and black & White Damask. A towering cake of over 3' made an impressive statement. The bride walked down the aisle on a fresh carpet of fragrant flower petals scattered by the flower girl. A tiara style bouquet added color to the bride's attire as she made her way to her soon to be husband. A candy buffet of assorted confections that matched the color theme, included black licorice bites...a favorite of the bride, Jordan almonds, Purple Island punch Jelly Bellies, White Sixlets, Grape Taffy, and Sour Grape balls offered a token of gratitude from the bride and groom to each guest. Bryce and Angela departed the celebration beneath a waterfall of sparklers held by each guest as they wished them all a Happily Ever After!!! Congratulations! So there comes a day in every wedding planners career when she plans a wedding for her own child. Hans is my first and was so excited to get married that we had a whole 3 weeks to plan! This was chapter one in the wedding celebration! Hans and my new daughter Holli were married March 15th in the Salt Lake Temple followed by a delightful evening of dining with family and friends at the Mansion! We are still awaiting the "professional" pictures to really do the event justice. The food was incredible...Indian of course! A family favorite! Vegetable Fritter appetizers, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Coconut Korma, and Vegetable Curry...as hot as you can make it!... Kheer for desert! Bride & Groom and guests were entertained with a sentimental program of musical numbers. The evening was nothing shy of enchanting!
We are busy putting the finishing touches on Chapter two, when we will celebrate with extended family and friends at a reception held in their honor in April!

Run Away Groom? Not this time. The Bride & Groom's Wedding Day just happened to be the same day as the Groom's Brother's Birthday and so this incredible cake was made by Maureen, our in house cake designer, to honor him on his special day! This amazing pair of Track shoes were actual size, and yes, they were completely made out of cake. The artificial turf was anything but artificial! Of course it was real cake too!....and we can't begin to tell you how delicious it was, down to the last blade of grass! One guest loved it so much that he gathered up two more pieces for the road!

A great and comfortable Shabby Chic Theme made guest feel welcome immediately. An Anniversary cake with an Heirloom design towered over quaint little cupcakes served in an eclectic collection of vintage tea cups, replacing the traditional three tier wedding cake. The ring pillow was undeniably fantastic! Made from a hob knob cotton throw it was the perfect escort for the bride and groom's rings! Delicate Cups and Saucers on an array of soft vintage hankies made a simply amazing centerpiece. The fact that they offered icebox cookies and chocolates made them irresistible!

A serene color palette of subtle hues of pear green, a hint of blue hydrangea, and lemon chiffon on a backdrop of Ivory, created an ambiance of calming elegance. Floral design included delicate white orchids, hydrangeas in full bloom, long stems of enchanting belles of Ireland, & fresh picked pears. The Cake was of a whimsical design, yet carried itself with grace and charm. Indoor and Outdoor dining made it a difficult choice for guests to choose which location they adored most! Additional outdoor dining was available on the East and West balconies offering an amazing aerial view of the gardens. Tropical Cheese Cake, Old fashioned lemonade sweetened with sugar crystal swizzle sticks, Traditional hand baked wedding cookies and an Ice Cream Parlor offered guests a myriad tantalizing treats to enjoy throughout the evening! ....Simply Amazing!

One of the great aspects of the Chantilly Mansion is how adaptable it is to every style and theme. Marilyn and Andrew were one of our favorite couples ever! Their personal distinct sense of style made their wedding uniquely their own! A colorful garland made from vintage fabrics and giant ric-rac hung beneath the 100 year old chandelier proudly indicating that indeed this was a day to celebrate. Well I know today is Ground hog's day, but due to the fact that I don't have any local furry weather predictors handy, I am going to have to rely on the timely appearance of this Rockin' Robin to reassure me that indeed Spring is not far off! I can't exactly say that he saw his shadow, but then again I never really remember... is it out like a Lion in like a lamb if he sees his shadow or visa versa? Oh the never ending options for cupcakes! These SWEET TWEETS were so delicious there wasn't even a crumb left for the birds. More elegant than whimsical the monochromatic hues of soft ivory and white looked absolutely beautiful as it took the place of the wedding cake. Our cupcake towers always include an Anniversary Cake for the bride & Groom to cut at the reception and then save for their one year Anniversary....and we all know what a great tradition that has turned out to be!

Wedding Day Hair!

Wedding Hair DO's and DON'T

DO consider the entire picture, which includes a style that fits the theme of your wedding and is cohesive with the rest of your look.

DON'T feel you have to emulate everything you see in bridal magazines. If the look of the moment is free-flowing tresses, but you prefer a sleek, tight bun, go with what you like. Your stylist can offer variations, such as escaped tendrils or pins and other accessories to add distinct appeal.

DO highlight your personality. Although you want to look radiant and special on your wedding day, don't wear a hairstyle that isn't 'you' In other words, if you're known for your pixie cut, don't feel the need to grow out your locks just because you'll have more style possibilities. Similarly, don't fight what nature gave you. Embrace your ringlet curls, rather than trying to flatten them out for your wedding. Understandably, you will want to look special on your wedding day, but take care to ensure that you are recognizable when you walk down the aisle.

DON'T compete with your gown. The lines and flow of your gown should be paralleled with the lines of your hairstyle. A simple, sheath gown works well with a tailored upswept chignon, while a princess gown with lots of tulle may work better with long, cascading waves.

DO practice your look prior to your wedding. Set up a rehearsal with your stylist and finalize your style. Take a photo so that he or she will have it for reference. This is your big day, so don't be afraid to voice your opinion and say what works for you and what doesn't. Ultimately, styling decisions are up to you, so don't feel pressured to go the way your stylist suggests.

DON'T leave your wedding day hairdo to chance. The right products can help keep your style looking beautiful throughout the day, with minimal retouching. To give hair a volume boost, texture and shine, consider a volumizing mousse that holds without weighing down hair. For dramatic looks and shine, a wax allows you to create hair artistry. And to tame flyaways and frizz while imparting a lustrous shine to hair, rely smoother.

DO make sure the groom-to-be takes grooming and haircare seriously as well. A haircut and style schedule a few weeks prior to the wedding will ensure his hair is in prime shape for wedding photo opportunities.
